Knightsbrook Hotel Spa & Golf Resort in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland, has been announced as the venue for the sixth PING Junior Solheim Cup, due to take place from 20-21 September 2011.

The Swedish golf-clothing brand Abacus has been commissioned to dress The 2011 European Solheim Cup Team following on from the great success in 2007 and 2009.

The Ladies European Tour is at Killeen Castle in Dunsany, County Meath this week for the AIB Ladies Irish Open, taking place from August 6-8. It’s a chance for the players to demonstrate their skills on the course that will host The 2011 Solheim Cup in just over a year’s time.  

Europe is one up to the Americans ahead of next year’s Solheim Cup clash at Killeen Castle. Sweden’s Sophie Gustafson earned the first point with a tremendous victory at the inaugural Killeen Castle Fishing Challenge in a sudden death ‘fish-off’, catching the first fish in extra time.  

Dunsany, County Meath, Ireland, 3rd August 2010: With The 2011 Solheim Cup just 13 months away, the European and US Captains, Alison Nicholas and Rosie Jones, were at Killeen Castle scouting the golf course ahead of this week’s AIB Ladies Irish Open.   

This week’s AIB Ladies Irish Open, taking place from 6-8 August, has attracted its strongest ever field of competitors with 17 of last year’s Solheim Cup players competing, plus last week’s runner up at the Ricoh Women’s British Open, Katherine Hull.
